Missionary Support Program

Funder: Gospel Volunteers, Inc. (CAMP-of-the-WOODS)

Geographic Scope: Global, with preference for strategic areas

Focus Areas:

Global evangelism among least-reached people groups

Restricted access countries

Language groups without Bible translations

Countries predominantly Hindu, Tribal, Muslim, or Buddhist

Eligibility Criteria:

Missionary Requirements:

• Evidence of consistent, exemplary Christian life
• Involvement at COTW (in order of priority):
- History of regular attendance and high involvement at staff level - LIFT program graduate - History of regular attendance and/or some involvement at staff level - Influenced to trust Christ at Camp - Relationship with Camp members or missionaries
• Serving in a strategic area for global evangelism among those with least access to the gospel
• Must serve under an established missions agency that is a member of ECFA (Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability)
• Agency must have reputation for integrity and stability
• Agency doctrinal statement must align with GVI Doctrinal Statement
• Agency must demonstrate good management

Project Requirements:

• Connection at COTW (in order of priority):
- History of regular attendance and high involvement at staff level - LIFT program graduate - History of regular attendance and/or some involvement at staff level - Influenced to trust Christ at Camp - Relationship with Camp members or missionaries
• Serving in a strategic area for global evangelism among those with least access to the gospel
• Clear alignment with CAMP-of-the-WOODS Mission Statement

What They Fund:

Support for individual missionaries

Support for missions projects

Strategic areas may receive higher initial financial support

Strategic Areas (Higher Priority):

Restricted access countries

Least-reached people groups (no viable indigenous community of believing Christians with adequate numbers and resources)

Language groups with no Bible translation

Countries predominantly Hindu, Tribal, Muslim, or Buddhist

Disbursement Schedule:

Support monies disbursed in yearly lump sum each October

Pending approval of Board of Directors and available funds

Support for missionaries begins when they leave for language study or field, whichever is earlier

Requirements for Supported Missionaries/Projects:

Send communication minimum twice per year to Missions Committee (newsletters, reports, personal letters, Annual Missions Update)

Complete and submit Annual Missions Update Form by April 30

Affirm agreement with GVI Doctrinal Statement

Visit COTW at least once every four years for in-person ministry update with Missions Committee member

Visiting missionaries receive complimentary week of accommodations at COTW
