Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom Foundation - Agricultural Literacy Grant

Purpose: Awards designed to support agriculture and food systems education efforts from kindergarten to high school across the state

Geographic Scope: Minnesota (statewide)

Eligible Applicants: Teachers in kindergarten through high school

  • Example Program: St. Francis teacher Carrie Allord received a $500 grant (2023) to support agricultural education in her kindergarten classroom, including:

  • Classroom farm animals (silkie chicken)

  • Field trips to Cornerstone Dairy Farm and Rustic Acres Greenhouse in Fort Ripley

  • Egg incubation and hatching experiences

  • Farm animal adoption and tracking programs
