Funder: Inter Tribal Long Term Recovery Foundation (ITLTRF)

Overview:
ITLTRF mini grants support disaster preparedness and recovery projects designed to promote tribal community resilience. The grants are available on a competitive basis. Applicants are urged to use these grants to leverage additional funding from their tribes, partners, schools, or other sources for the development of their grant project.

    Eligible Applicants

  • Current ITLTRF member tribes (membership requirements and benefits available at www.ITLTRF.org)
  • Tribal Schools and Tribal Educators
  • Tribal Fire Departments
  • Indian Health Services
  • Representatives of local professional associations or non-profit organizations that promote disaster preparedness and recovery in California

    Eligible Project Types

    Projects that contribute to the promotion of resilience in Tribal Nations through disaster preparedness and recovery, such as:
  • Advocacy for disaster preparedness and long-term recovery
  • Planning for individual and community preparedness and recovery
  • Coordination for emergency response
  • Mitigation activities
  • Other projects that promote resilience for tribal people and communities affected by disasters

    Funding Details

    Maximum Award: Up to $2,000
  • Part or all of the project may be funded
  • A detailed budget and budget justification for each line item is required and should be uploaded under File Attachments in the grant application

    Restrictions

  • An applicant may request funding of up to $2,000 once per year
  • Grant money may not be used for salaries
  • Grant money may not be used for any purposes other than what you have proposed
  • Applicants must be ITLTRF members, representatives from a Tribal Nation, Tribal organization, or Tribal business
  • Project should be completed within six months of funding

Applications are accepted on a continual basis and reviewed and awarded quarterly.

How to Apply

1. Complete the application form (download from website or via the ITLTRF website)
2. Submit the completed application form

    Required Materials

  • Completed application form
  • Detailed budget with budget justification for each line item (upload under File Attachments in the grant application)

    Timeline

  • Application Deadline: Applications are accepted on a continual basis
  • Review Schedule: Reviewed and awarded quarterly
  • Notification: Applicants will be sent a confirmation of submission via email. Notification of the grant award will be sent via email and hard copy within 30 days of submission

Post-Award Requirements

Upon completion of the project (within one month), submit:

1. Performance Completion Report that includes:
- Explanation of how the project was implemented
- Whether all project objectives were accomplished
- Description of the impact the project had on the community
- Number of participants reached or benefiting from the grant project
- Explanation of any difficulties or changes in the project during implementation
- Photos from community events to highlight project impact

2. Financial Report that includes:
- Documentation of how funding was spent
- Explanation of any changes to proposed budget
- Copies of receipts for items with a value of more than $500
