Micro-Grants for Africa

Overview: Liberty International's micro-grant program offers $1,000 in funding to grassroots African organizations committed to advancing liberty, free markets, and human rights across the African continent.

Purpose: Funding local initiatives that champion liberty, free markets, and human rights. Support innovative, impactful projects that spread classical liberal ideas, promote free enterprise, and protect individual rights.

Geographic Scope: Africa (preference given to African-led organizations)

  • Eligibility & Criteria

    Organization Requirements:

  • Must be legally registered as a non-profit in operating country

  • Mission must align with Liberty International's vision and mission (individual liberty, free markets, human rights)

  • Preference given to African-led organizations

  • Can submit one proposal per application cycle
  • What They Fund:

  • Projects that contribute meaningfully to the cause of liberty

  • Grassroots and local initiatives
  • Geographic Preference: Africa-centered with preference to African-led organizations; however, non-African organizations may apply if projects demonstrate strong alignment with mission

    Selection Process

    • Competitive review process
    • Evaluated based on: alignment with mission, feasibility, potential for impact, and organizational track record
    • Shortlisted applicants may be invited for Zoom discussion
    • Grant awards made annually
