Micro Grants

One-time funding opportunities of up to $5,000 to support and encourage local volunteer projects.

SMALL GRANTS, BIG IMPACT.

The Cape and Islands United Way's micro grant program offers funding to support and encourage local volunteerism. A typical grant is about $2,500 and is available on a rolling schedule.

Who can apply?

The common thread of the micro grants is that they all support volunteerism. So, as long as your project engages volunteers in some way and you are based on Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket, you are welcome to apply! Organizations can be nonprofits, schools, councils of aging, parent/youth organizations or other community groups.

How do you define volunteerism?

Volunteerism can be in the form of training or education, or as a specific volunteer project.

What kinds of projects or initiatives do you fund?

The goals of the program are to engage residents of all ages in projects that address local concerns to improve the community landscape, and to bring attention to the value and reward of volunteerism. Project examples include:

* Local Beautification
* Clean Up & Improvements
* Neighborhood Collaboration
* Youth-Centered Service
* Multi-Generational
