Medical Student Travel Award Grant

The Medical Student Travel Award aims to support medical students interested in pathology by providing up to $1,200 for travel expenses to the CAP Annual Meeting in Las Vegas (October 3-6, 2026). This award facilitates valuable learning experiences through networking opportunities and insights into the pathology field, enhancing the awardees' understanding of residency training and the role of pathologists in healthcare.

The Medical Student Travel Award is intended to encourage and support medical students showing a strong interest in the specialty of pathology as a career choice. This award provides funding, to cover travel expenses up to $1,200, to attend the CAP Annual Meeting (CAP26 – October 3 – 6, 2026; Las Vegas, Nevada), where awardees will gain valuable insight and critical knowledge from experts regarding the field of pathology and its career pathways.
To enhance the awardee’s experience at the Fall Residents Forum and CAP Annual Meeting, a Residents Forum Delegate will be assigned to help the awardee:
Learn more about the specialty of pathology and residency training programsBroaden their understanding of the pathologist’s role on the health care teamObtain networking opportunities with residents and practicing pathologists to learn more about pursuing and preparing for a career in pathology.

Eligibility

Medical students actively enrolled in a US-based accredited medical school and possessing a strong interest in the field of pathology are invited to apply. All applicants will be considered regardless of age, race, gender, national origin, or religion.
Applicants should have authorization from their institution to attend the meeting.
