Mini-Grants General Description Mini-Grants are awarded in amounts of less than $1,000. The Mini-Grant program is designed for small projects for which completion of the regular Grant Application Form may be impractical. Mini-Grant projects may: Promote historical interest and the preservation, cataloguing and display of historic memorabilia and items of historical significance;Promote the support and expansion of local museums and the programs sponsored by them-including the support of historic pageants or re-enactments;Promote ideals of patriotism, democratic ideals (such as traveling programs, speakers, essay or speaking contests relating to such areas);Promote the study and recording of genealogical data and the expansion of genealogical libraries;Support for citizen naturalization programs;Provide unique educational opportunities not offered in existing programs. The foregoing is not intended to be an exhaustive list of activities which may be supported by a Mini-Grant. Mini-Grants must have the potential to make a genuine, effective contribution to the advancement of American patriotism, education, historic preservation or genealogical activities.Eligibility

The Foundation is NOT accepting applications for student scholarships.The Foundation does not fund capital campaigns, multi-year projects or renewals, general operating budgets, or endowments.No portion of the funds may be used in payment of administrative costs.No portion of the grant can be used to fund lobbying, participate in any political campaign, attempt to influence legislation or the outcome of any public election, or to carry on, directly or indirectly, any voter registration drive.The funds may not be used for any purpose prohibited by law, including those purposes designated in Section 4945 of the Internal Revenue Code.Focus Areas & Funding Uses
