MCBC Legacy Scholarship

Program Status: Active scholarship fund

Geographic Scope: Florida-based institutions only

The MCBC Legacy Scholarship awards scholarships annually to individuals who want to further their education. The MCBC gives priority to students pursuing a construction-related degree at Florida-based institutions.

Award Details

• Maximum Award: Up to $2,500 per scholarship
• Number of Awards: Multiple scholarships awarded each academic year (exact number determined by MCBC Steering Committee)
• Fund Disbursement: Upon receipt of proof of enrollment

Eligibility Requirements

1. Applicant must enroll in a Florida-based community college, college, university, or trade institution during the year awarded or next semester in the school's academic year
2. Preference given to those pursuing construction-related degrees
3. Social Security Number required if selected (for distribution of funds)

Selection Criteria

The MCBC Steering Committee will review applications considering:

• Interest in construction
• Grades
• Extracurricular activities
• Employment experience
• Financial need

What They Fund

• Education at Florida-based institutions (community colleges, colleges, universities, trade schools)
• Priority: Construction-related degree programs

Important Notes

• Some restrictions may apply to fund use
• Incomplete applications will not be considered
• Scholarship funds disbursed upon proof of enrollment

Application Process

Required Materials:

1. Completed MCBC Legacy Scholarship Application Form
2. Two letters of reference/recommendation
3. Essay from applicant titled: "Why I Should Receive The MCBC Legacy Scholarship"
   • Length: 200-500 words
   • Must be submitted with application information

Application Format:

• Online form available on website (custombuilt.com)
• All documents must be uploaded through the online application portal

File Requirements:

• Accepted file types: PDF, DOC, JPG
• Max file size: 256 MB
• Max files: 3

Submission Instructions:

1. Complete the applicant personal information section (name, DOB, address, contact info)
2. Provide financial information (other aid received, previous applications)
3. Upload documents (essay and 2 letters of recommendation)
4. Submit through online form
