Mission Statement In keeping with the long term vision of its sole benefactor, J. T. Emerson, deceased, the trust’s primary goal is to provide higher educational opportunities through financial assistance to deserving and needy students in our surrounding area. The trust’s secondary goal is to assist the residents of Danville / Pittsylvania County, VA through charitable grants to tax exempt organizations. The Trustees and staff of the J. T. – Minnie Maude Charitable Trust are committed to preserving and fulfilling the final wishes of its founder, today and into the future. Please refer to FAQ for additional informations.

Eligibility

The J.T. – Minnie Maude Charitable Trust will accept grant requests from any non-profit organization eligible to receive tax deductible contributions;however, all funds must be used for the benefit of the residents of Danville/Pittsylvania County (VA).

Ineligibility

At this time, due to the Trust’s own existing scholarship program, the Trust has decided not to fund grants which provide or establish scholarship programs.Funds received may not be diverted to attempt to influence legislation or participate or intervene in any political campaign.
