MaryLee Allen PSSF Funding Grant Opportunity

Funder: Texas Center for Child and Family Studies (TACFS)

Overview: Emergency supplemental funding to develop, establish, expand, or operate coordinated programs in four key focus areas addressing unmet needs for families at risk or in crisis during the pandemic.

Focus Areas

1. Community-based family support services - Prevent child maltreatment among families at risk through supportive family services (including adoptive, foster, and extended families; programs offering direct incentives/payments) 2. Family preservation services - Assure children's safety within the home and preserve intact families where children have been maltreated 3. Family reunification services - Address problems of families whose children are in foster care to enable safe and stable reunification 4. Adoption promotion and support services - Support adoptive families with services enabling lifetime commitment to children

    Eligibility Requirements

    Eligible organization types:
  • Service provider operating in the State of Texas with applicable incurred costs
  • Active DFPS Prevention and Early Intervention Contractor
  • DFPS licensed 24-Hour Residential Child Care operation with active contract with DFPS or SSCC
  • DFPS or SSCC Client Service Contractor
  • Single Source Continuum Contractor (SSCC)
  • Operation contracted to provide Supervised Independent Living (SIL) services to DFPS Youth

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be in good standing (not on probation by CCR at time of award)

  • One application per organization

  • Organizations eligible regardless of other COVID-19 Relief Funding received through TACFS

    4. Award Announcement: Tentative awards announced December 17th, 2021
    5. Spending Period: Selected organizations have until November 1st, 2022 to spend down project funding
