Mary Natale Citizenship Award
Overview: Recognition award given by the Neighborhood Association of the Back Bay (NABB) to honor individuals, groups, and organizations that have made significant contributions to the Back Bay residential community.
Award Criteria: Given based upon significant and sustained dedication and service to the residential interests of the Back Bay and, in particular, unselfish and unheralded commitment to the community.
Geographic Scope: Back Bay neighborhood, Boston, Massachusetts
Eligibility: The recipient may be one or more individuals, a group, a committee, an institution, or an organization.
Background: The award was established at NABB's 2001 Annual Meeting and is named after Mary Natale (died 2001), who was active in the neighborhood for many years as a long-serving NABB Board member, Executive Committee member, Secretary, Crime Committee Chair, Membership Committee Co-Chair, Traffic and Transportation Committee Chair, and Licensing and Building Use Committee member. Mary was known for working behind the scenes and being willing to do more than her share for the benefit of her neighbors.
