Marines' Memorial Employee Scholarship Program

Awardees: Scholarships made payable to the school, not directly to recipient
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet ALL of the following:
1. Employment Status: Applicant is a current employee of Marines' Memorial, OR the child or grandchild of a current employee
2. **Employee Requirements (if applicable):
- Employee has continuously worked for Marines' Memorial for at least 12 months
- Employee has NOT been formally disciplined in the past 6 months
- Employee is NOT a Direct Report (senior manager)
- Eligible employee levels: Hourly/non-exempt and operations managers
3. Student Requirements:
- Applicant (whether the employee or their child/grandchild) must be attending an accredited undergraduate, graduate, vocational, or associate's program for the upcoming school year
- No limit to number of children from same family who can apply
- Major/program of study does NOT need to relate to job at Marines' Memorial
- Students with full scholarships may still apply (funds count as educational expenses)
- School must be accredited
- If school choice changes after selection, contact HR to adjust award

How to Apply
Application Process
1. Access Application:
- Scan QR code on announcement (if available)
- OR click application link provided by HR/Director of Membership
- Application materials available from MGy JJ Banks
2. Application Submission:
- Student must complete application themselves (parents/guardians cannot apply on their behalf)
- Applications available in digital format or as paper form
- All materials must be submitted by 11:59 PM PDT on April 11
- Late applications will NOT be accepted
3. Application Requirements:
- Confirmation of employee status (which employee you are/related to)
- Proof of employment tenure (12+ months continuous)
- Confirmation of accredited school enrollment for upcoming year
- School name and expected program/major (may be changed later if needed)
- Demonstration that employee has not been formally disciplined in past 6 months
4. Submission Format:
- Digital submission (preferred)
- OR paper application (available from MGy JJ Banks)
5. Important Notes:
- Students with multiple siblings may each apply separately
- Funds made payable to school, not to student
- School financial office must confirm ability to accept additional scholarship funds
- Foundation can provide letter to school explaining scholarship purpose
- Contact MGy JJ Banks for clarification on any requirements
6. Post-Award:
- Scholarship checks assembled in August
- Contact MGy JJ Banks or HR if school choice changes before check is finalized
- School must remain accredited at time of award
