Manufacturing Academy - Youth Pre-Apprenticeship

Program Type: Pre-apprenticeship/Training Program

Geographic Scope: South Central Washington (Kittitas, Klickitat, Skamania, and Yakima counties)

Overview:
An 11-week pre-apprenticeship program that provides foundational skills and credentials to enter formal apprenticeship. Managed by AJAC in partnership with South Central Workforce.

Eligibility:

Three Pathway Options:

1. Bootcamp - 30 hours of live lecture and in-person learning
- Understanding of manufacturing industry
- Valuable employment preparation
- Industry certifications
- On-the-job safety protocols

2. AJAC Classes - Three classes equal to 15 college credits
- Upon completion: tour partnering companies, job shadow, network with industry mentors

3. Apprenticeship - Direct pathway
- Interview with partnering companies
- Upon hire: enroll and complete all three AJAC classes
- 2,000 hours of paid, on-the-job training
- Upon completion: earn Journey-level credential as Production Technician or Automation Technician
