Manning Family Foundation Since 2003, the Manning Family Foundation has been advancing health and healthy communities by awarding grants to exceptional nonprofit organizations. We proudly support innovation in two primary program areas: Health & Life Sciences Research and Local Giving. Health and Life Sciences Research Grants We support research that leads to the development of more effective treatments, and ultimately cures, for the world’s most disruptive diseases. We encourage a spirit of entrepreneurialism to help us achieve that end. We envision a world where there are cures for diseases such as diabetes and macular degeneration. We are passionate about supporting innovative research to find those cures. Our primary focus is on Type 1 Diabetes and retinal diseases, in particular macular degeneration and Stargardt’s disease.
