MAATA District III Research and Grant

Overview: Funding opportunity for district members to support research initiatives in athletic training. The research supports professional development of early-career researchers and provides pilot data for larger projects.

Geographic Scope: Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers Association District III (Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, and District of Columbia)

Focus Areas: All research areas related to athletic training, including:

  • Injury prevention and management

  • Rehabilitation protocols

  • Athletic training education

  • Evidence-based practice

  • Neuromuscular function

  • Chronic ankle instability

  • ACL rehabilitation

  • Concussion management

  • Heat illness

  • Balance and proprioception

  • And other athletic training-related research
  • Award Details:

  • Up to $5,000 per one-year project period

  • Notification of award approximately one month after submission deadline
  • Eligibility:

  • Current members of MAATA District III

  • Research must be related to athletic training
