The Society offers grants for projects that:

Benefit agriculture practiced in Massachusetts in a manner that is both economically and environmentally sound
Broaden knowledge of and support for farmers and farming in Massachusetts
Would not be likely to receive funding from government or corporate sources, but where a grant from the Society would enhance chances of such funding through matching grants
Stimulate research in new areas

Current Areas of Interest:

Sustainable agriculture, including integrated pest management
Projects that directly benefit the farming community (e.g., overcoming environmental problems)
Projects with ancillary benefits such as preservation of farmland and open space
Unique marketing ideas
Education programs designed to encourage consumer awareness of Massachusetts farm products
