Overview

Lundquist Fellows Program

Overview: A year-long fellowship program founded in honor of Melanie and Richard Lundquist, co-founders of the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools. The program seeks to reward students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and commitment to their schools, education, and communities.

Geographic Scope: Los Angeles, California - serves middle and high school students in Partnership network schools

Focus Areas:

  • Student leadership development

  • College preparation and access

  • Professional growth and skills development
  • Eligibility:

  • Middle and high school students in Partnership schools

  • Must demonstrate outstanding leadership

  • Must show commitment to schools, education, and communities

  • Five-year fellowship program available for high school students
  • Award Amount: $500 scholarship upon successful program completion

    Program Components:

  • Participation in Partnership's Student Advisory Board

  • College campus visits and/or skills-based conference attendance

  • Various Partnership events and culminating program ceremony

  • Academic scholarship

  • Professional growth opportunities

  • Networking opportunities with professors, administrators, and community leaders

    Additional Notes: The program has multiple cohorts per year. Recent programming has included collaboration with University of Oregon for the Oregon Young Scholars Program (OYSP) - a week-long summer program for Lundquist Fellows.
