Long-Term Support (LTS) Program

OpenSats provides sustainable, ongoing funding for builders and maintainers of critical open-source infrastructure within the Bitcoin and nostr ecosystems.

Focus Areas:

• Bitcoin Core development and maintenance
• Nostr ecosystem infrastructure and applications
• Projects requiring sustained support beyond one-time grants

Geographic Scope: International

Eligibility: Open-source developers and projects with demonstrated contributions to Bitcoin or nostr ecosystems

Funding Sources: Made possible by donations to the General Fund and Nostr Fund

Background: The LTS program recognizes the importance of sustained funding for critical infrastructure maintainers. Notable recipients include:

• Andrew Toth (Bitcoin Core performance and privacy)
• Alex Gleason (Nostr ecosystem projects)
• René Pickhardt (Lightning Network research)
• Jason Donenfeld (WireGuard and related projects)

Application Process

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Interested developers should:

1. Visit opensats.org/apply
2. Submit information about your project and contributions
3. Demonstrate sustained contributions to open-source Bitcoin or nostr projects
4. Describe how ongoing support would impact your work
