The Bernard Osher Foundation

The Bernard Osher Foundation makes grants and endowment gifts to colleges, universities, and other non-profit organizations in four program areas: post-secondary scholarships, lifelong learning institutes for seasoned adults, select integrative medicine programs, and arts and educational organizations.

Local Arts and Educational Grant Program

Since its start in 1977, the Foundation has received applications from a wide variety of arts and educational organizations principally in the San Francisco Bay Area and in the State of Maine. Grantees over the years have included performing arts groups, literary programs, educational and environmental groups, and social service organizations. At present there are more than 125 grantees in this program area, and no letters of inquiry are being accepted.

* The Foundation does not make grants to individuals.
* The Osher Foundation does not award funds to students directly. It provides funding to colleges and universities to support scholarships, and then those schools administer their own Osher Scholarship Programs.
