NOTE: The Foundation has a year-round, rolling application process; there are no deadlines. The last day to submit an application to be considered for this year is October 31, 2024. The Lilah Hilliard Fisher Foundation is committed to making strategic investments into our agricultural, cultural, health, and educational systems. Priorities The Foundation's grantmaking is currently focused on regenerative agriculture and nutrition education efforts nationwide. The Foundation also supports organizations and projects in New York City and Litchfield County, Connecticut that help survivors of human trafficking, champion youth development, advance social justice, and strengthen safety nets for vulnerable populations. Areas of Interest The Lilah Hilliard Fisher Foundation has a geographic focus on organizations working in the northeastern United States in the following areas: Regenerative agricultureSoil healthBiodiversityNutrient-dense foods and nutrition education efforts We ask that your project or idea fit within at least one of these areas of interest. Project proposals outside of these areas are by invitation only.

Eligibility

Applicant organizations must be classified as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code and as public charities under Section 509(a) of that code.The geographic focus of the Foundation’s grantmaking program is New York City.The Board reserves the right to approve grants in other locations at its discretion.While the Foundation entertains requests from a wide variety of organizations, most grants are initiated at the direction of the program staff and Board of Trustees of the Foundation.The Foundation does consider a limited number of multi-year grants.

The Foundations do not encourage requests for:Support for conferences or trainingsEndowment contributionsDebt reductionOrganizations based outside the United StatesSupport for organizations that are not a 501(c)(3) or government agency, and therefore require a fiscal sponsorship, unless the sponsorship is a temporary situation and/or the sponsorship arrangement meets rigorous criteria for oversight and supportSupport for individualsEvent sponsorships
