  • Must present required documents: Tyson recent paystubs, Tyson ID, and valid government ID

  • Must present in person at Lutheran Family Services office in Lexington, NE

  • Must provide valid government ID and basic personal demographic information

  • Must be willing to follow LFS registration process

  • Must currently be unemployed with no other major source of income
  • Award: Flat $500 emergency cash assistance (one-time only per individual)

    Language Support: Interpretation provided in Arabic, Somali, Pashto, Dari, and Spanish

  • How to Apply

    Application and Registration Process

    1. Register for an appointment using the online registration form on the program page
    - If arriving without appointment, can sign up if appointments available
    - Appointments only available Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, 9 AM–4 PM
    - LFS able to serve up to 100 people per day

    2. Attend appointment at LFS Lexington office in person
    - Bring personal government ID
    - Bring proof of Tyson layoff (recent Tyson paystubs and Tyson ID)
    - Registration process takes up to 20 minutes
    - Interpretation provided if needed

    3. Check eligibility verification during registration
    - Staff confirm all required documents
    - Verify unemployment status
    - Collect basic personal demographic information

    4. Receive check by picking up in person from LFS Lexington office
    - Check available for pickup per timeline: Thursday (for Mon-Tue noon registrations) or Friday (for Tue afternoon-Wed registrations)
    - Only person check is issued to can pick it up
    - Must bring valid ID for pickup
