Special Assistance Grants

Geographic Scope: Franklin County, Indiana

Special Assistance grants are available year-round and may be applied for at any time. If funds are available and the applicant meets the endowment criteria, awards will be made.

Funding Available: $41,097 has been funded or is available from endowment funds and pass-throughs for 2025.

What They Fund:

• Medical expenses for children under age 18 (Lorraine & Frank Misasi Children's Medical Fund)
• Families dealing with loss of a dependent child (Olivia Rebecca Waggoner Memorial Endowment, Maxwell James Grimmeissen Memorial Endowment, Dallas Nobbe Memorial Endowment)
• Childhood cancer support (Bill & Marge Zimmer Family Endowment)
• Speech or hearing disability expenses (John & Joyce Back Speech & Hearing Disability Endowment)
• Substance abuse rehabilitation and education (Eric Biehl Memorial Endowment)
• Families with dependent child dealing with serious or terminal illness (Friends of Olivia Rebecca Waggoner Medical Pass-through)
• Equipment for hearing impaired Franklin County residents who are mentally or physically handicapped (Rhonda Fields Memorial Endowment)

Eligible Applicants: Franklin County residents meeting specific endowment criteria related to medical needs, loss, disability, or health challenges
