Leslie W. Joyce and Paul W. Thayer Graduate Fellowship in I-O Psychology Grant

The Leslie W. Joyce and Paul W. Thayer Graduate Fellowship in I-O Psychology, offered by the SIOP Foundation, supports doctoral students focused on talent management. This annual $15,000 fellowship honors the mentorship between Dr. Joyce and Dr. Thayer. Eligibility includes being a PhD student in I-O psychology, demonstrating a commitment to a practitioner career, and having relevant experience. The fellowship aims to foster the development of future leaders in the field of Industrial/Organizational Psychology.

The SIOP Foundation is pleased to offer graduate student fellowships, which honor the exceptional mentoring relationship between Dr. Leslie Joyce and Dr. Paul Thayer. The relationship began in graduate school and continued through Dr. Joyce’s subsequent career. The Joyce and Thayer Fellowship is designed to provide financial support to doctoral students in I-O psychology who have a special interest in talent management and who plan to have a career as an I-O practitioner. One $15,000 fellowship is awarded annually.
The Joyce and Thayer Fellowship Committee (appointed by the Award Committee chair), will select the Fellow based on:
The quality of the undergraduate or graduate record, including appropriateness of coursework to specialization in talent managementThe quality of the master’s thesis or research summary, both scientifically and practicallyThe clarity and realism of the statement of goals and aspirationsRelevance of any applied experience to career specializationStrength of support from faculty and/or supervisors

Eligibility

PhD student in I-O psychologySIOP studentSpecialized interest in talent management (i.e., talent acquisition, development, and deployment)Committed to a practitioner career as evidenced by work experience and/or a statement of career goalsSome experience in an applied setting relevant to I-OEligible recipients may reapply for a second year of funding.May be used for graduate school expenses (without additional restriction).
