NOTE: This opportunity has two full-proposal deadlines. The first reflects the application due date. The second is the date that Required Authorization documents and Environmentally Preferable Purchasing and Practices (EPPP) Policy documents must be uploaded (if these are not submitted with the application). If the applicant does not have an EPPP Policy at the time of application, an EPPP Policy must be adopted by the secondary full-proposal due date. Legacy Disposal Site Abatement Partial Grant Program (CA) Public entities bear a financial responsibility for maintaining public landfill sites in compliance with state regulations and standards. The program provides financial assistance in the form of reimbursement grants up to $750,000 in matching funds for eligible costs to assist public entities requiring financial assistance, and committed to accelerating the pace of cleanup, restoring sites, and protecting public health and safety and the environment. Projects Eligible projects include the remediation of disposal sites closed in accordance with the local laws at the time of the closure and prior to implementation of the State’s current permitting and/or closure requirements for landfills and disposal sites. Solid waste cleanup project sites where cleanup is needed to protect public health and safety of the environment within the applicant’s jurisdiction. CalRecycle offers the Legacy Disposal Site Abatement Partial Grant Program pursuant to Section 48020 of the Public Resources Code. For cleanup of solid waste sites and solid waste co-disposal sites where the responsible party either cannot be identified or is unwilling or unable to pay for timely remediation and where cleanup in needed to protect public health and safety and/or the environment.
