Lee Ingraham Reading Grant
Overview: This grant honors Lee Ingraham, Rye Elementary School Principal from 1994-2000, and her dedication to instilling a love of reading in children.
Background: During her time as principal, Lee Ingraham's goal was to instill a love of reading in all children at the school. She was passionate about reading and felt it was the greatest gift we can give to children. Under her leadership, Rye Elementary won the Blue Ribbon of Excellence for the 1998-1999 school year.
Award Purpose: Each spring, $500 is awarded to Rye Elementary School to refill the book vending machine in the front entry, honoring Lee's passion for reading.
