Leaders for Tomorrow National Scholarship Program

The Annexstad Family Foundation's flagship scholarship program that provides full financial support to deserving undergraduate students who have overcome extraordinary challenges in their lives.

Geographic Scope: National, with partnerships at select universities including:

• University of Alabama
• University of Mississippi (Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College)
• Clemson University
• University of Pennsylvania
• University of Redlands
• Minnesota State University, Mankato

Mission & Focus Areas:

• Support students, many of whom are first-generation college students
• Allow recipients to complete their academic careers fully-funded
• Enable graduates to finish with little or no debt
• Target students who have demonstrated:
  • Leadership in schools or communities
  • Ability to overcome extraordinary challenges
  • Academic excellence and ambition

Eligibility:

• Undergraduate students at partner institutions
• Students who have overcome significant life challenges
• First-generation college students preferred
• Demonstrated leadership potential

What the Foundation Funds:

• Full undergraduate tuition and expenses
• Comprehensive support enabling debt-free graduation

Support Services:

• Scholarship advisory services (e.g., Jessica Franks at University of Alabama)
• Workshops on leadership, financial literacy, and professional development
• Networking events and community building among scholars
• Career development opportunities

Foundation Background:

• Al Annexstad (1945-2027) was CEO of Federated Insurance
• Mission rooted in founders' personal experience of losing a parent at an early age
• Has funded nearly 1,300 scholarships to students across the U.S.
