Overview: The Annexstad Family Foundation's flagship scholarship program that provides full financial support to deserving undergraduate students who have overcome extraordinary challenges in their lives.

Geographic Scope: National, with partnerships at select universities including:

University of Alabama

University of Mississippi (Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College)

Clemson University

University of Pennsylvania

University of Redlands

Minnesota State University, Mankato

Mission & Focus Areas:

Support students, many of whom are first-generation college students

Allow recipients to complete their academic careers fully-funded

Enable graduates to finish with little or no debt

Target students who have demonstrated:

- Leadership in schools or communities
- Ability to overcome extraordinary challenges
- Academic excellence and ambition

Eligibility:

Undergraduate students at partner institutions

Students who have overcome significant life challenges

First-generation college students preferred

Demonstrated leadership potential

What the Foundation Funds:

Full undergraduate tuition and expenses

Comprehensive support enabling debt-free graduation

Support Services:

Scholarship advisory services (e.g., Jessica Franks at University of Alabama)

Workshops on leadership, financial literacy, and professional development

Networking events and community building among scholars

Career development opportunities

Foundation Background:

Founded in 2000 by Al and Cathy Annexstad

Al Annexstad (1945-2027) was CEO of Federated Insurance

Mission rooted in founders' personal experience of losing a parent at an early age

Has funded nearly 1,300 scholarships to students across the U.S.
