LDEI Woman of Purpose Award
Funder: Les Dames d'Escoffier International (LDEI) in partnership with YETI
Award Amount: $10,000 to continue philanthropic work plus customized YETI product package
Frequency: Biennial (every other year); alternates with Grande Dame Award
Geographic Scope: International
Award Purpose: Recognizes an exceptional LDEI member who has made a positive impact in local or global communities incorporating global sustainability, food justice, and public health. Celebrates visionary women making strides toward improving the food system.

Focus Areas
Applicants must demonstrate commitment to one or more of:- LDEI Membership: Must be an active member in good standing with minimum 3 years membership
- Impact: Demonstrates and inspires others through commitment to focus areas listed above
- Scope: Work has local, national, and/or international focus
- Involvement: Shares time, talent, and resources to improve others' quality of life
- Commitment: Agrees to attend award ceremony at LDEI Annual Conference
- Publicity: Agrees that award and submitted collateral may be publicized

How to Apply
Nomination and Application Process
1. Eligibility: Nominee must meet all criteria and submit complete application
2. Who Can Nominate:
- LDEI Chapter (formal nomination)
- Another LDEI Dame
3. Required Materials:
- Essay from nominating Chapter/Dame (not to exceed 1,000 words) highlighting nominee's contribution to the greater good while emphasizing LDEI's vision, mission, and guiding principles
- Nominee's completed informational forms
- Visual images as requested by LDEI
4. Selection Process:
- Each LDEI Chapter in good standing has one vote
- Voting based on submitted essays and materials
5. Winner Requirements:
- Must attend award ceremony at LDEI Annual Conference
- Must agree that award may be publicized
- Must complete all requested informational forms and provide visual materials
6. Timeline (Biennial):
- January 25: Call for nominations opens
- March 17: Deadline for nominations
- April 3: Nomination information & ballot distributed to chapters
- May 5: Deadline for chapter ballots
- May 10: Winner announced
