Law Enforcement Assessment & Planning (LEAP) Pilot Program

Focus Areas:

  • Elevate law enforcement engagement and participation on Multidisciplinary Teams (MDTs)

  • Improve outcomes for child crime victims

  • Support coordinated community response to crimes against children
  • Eligibility:

  • Local children's advocacy centers (CACs) in Texas

  • Must be able to initiate, conduct, and complete the pilot program between November 1, 2024, and September 30, 2025

  • Must work collaboratively with local law enforcement partners and other community stakeholders
  • Program Objectives:

  • Assess core challenges impacting local law enforcement's ability to fully and consistently participate in the multidisciplinary response

  • Develop community-informed and embraced plans for addressing and eliminating gaps in effective and timely criminal investigation of crimes against children

  • Strengthen law enforcement engagement within the CAC multidisciplinary response model
