Casey entered the United States Army as a 2nd Lieutenant after her graduation from Texas A&M University, Kingsville.

Be a graduating senior from any high school in the CBCF seven-county service area who has participated in JROTC in high school or intends to join ROTC in college, ORCurrent college student participating in college ROTC program or reservist (Army, Air Force, Navy, or Marines) or member of Texas National Guard, ORA member of the U.S. Armed Forces (Army, Air Force, Navy, or Marines) who has served at least three years active duty, OR an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces, ORThe dependent of someone currently on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces who has served at least three years, OR an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Armed ForcesHigh school applicants should be in top one-half of classBe enrolled full-time at an accredited college or universityMaintain a minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale, and complete at least 12 credit hours per semester to be eligible for renewal
