Reverend E.F. Bennett Scholarship Grant

The Reverend E.F. Bennett Scholarship, offered by the Coastal Bend Community Foundation, honors the legacy of a dedicated community leader. This scholarship is available to graduating seniors in the CBCF seven-county area who rank in the top 10% of their class and plan to enroll full-time at Del Mar College, TAMUCC, or TAMUK. Financial need is also a key criterion, ensuring that support reaches those who require it most.

CBCF is a public charity serving the Coastal Bend region of Texas and is beginning its fourth decade. Over these years, our founders, donors, board members, and staff have worked together to provide millions of dollars in grants and scholarships to the people of this geographical region, while imbuing CBCF with a reputation for honesty, integrity, stewardship and effectiveness.
CBCF serves as our communities’ charitable endowment; we are fortunate to be able to use our assets to “improve the quality of life in the Coastal Bend.”
Established by a group of business leaders in Corpus Christi, Texas to honor Reverend Bennett’s outstanding record of community service. The Reverend E.F. Bennett, a WWII veteran and former pastor in Refugio and Robstown, Texas, served as a director for 17 nonprofit organizations, as Chaplain for the Corpus Christi Police Department and the Nueces County Sheriff’s Department.
