How We Accomplish Our Vision And Mission:

* Introducing young students to geology by funding creative educational programming and curriculum developed by organizations specializing in K-12 education.
* Placing grants directly into the hands of university students to assist their pursuit of geology degrees and careers.
* Enabling professionals to share their knowledge with students worldwide through lectures and visits to university campuses.
* Funding programs that provide opportunities for students and young professionals to improve the quality of life for people around the world through humanitarian relief efforts using geoscience technology.
* Recognizing outstanding leaders and educators for their achievements in geoscience.

L. Austin Weeks Undergraduate Grant

The AAPG Foundation's L. Austin Weeks Undergraduate Grant program annually awards deserving undergraduate level geoscience students and student-led geoscience associations with $500 grants.

Eligibility

* If you are an undergraduate student in your sophomore, junior or senior year, studying a field of geoscience full-time at a four-year accredited college or university, you are eligible for the L. Austin Weeks Undergraduate Grant program.
* Students studying geoscience may use their portion of the grant to purchase equipment required for hands-on exploration (e.g., rock hammers and camping equipment), attend conferences, take field trips, and purchase other exploration-related materials.
* Individual student recipients may also apply their funds toward tuition fees.
* Undergraduate geoscience student associations including AAPG Student Chapters and other undergraduate student-led geoscience clubs or associations are also eligible to receive funds.
* Students studying geoscience may use their portion of the grant to purchase equipment required for hands-on exploration (e.g., rock hammers and camping equipment), attend conferences, take field trips, and purchase other exploration-related materials.
* Individual student recipients may also apply their funds toward tuition fees.
