Overview:
BCAP is a financial assistance and mammogram program providing support to breast cancer survivors in active treatment and uninsured women seeking mammography screening.
Program Components:
- Amount: Up to $350 per application
- Use: Housing and Utilities support only
- Eligible Expenses: - Utilities: Electric, Gas, Water, Sewage - Housing: Rent or Mortgage
- Non-Eligible Expenses: Cable, Cell Phone, Transportation, Medical expenses
- Payment Method: Payments made directly to provider (not to applicant)
- Applicant Requirement: Applicant name must appear on utility bill, lease agreement, or mortgage statement

- Through partnerships with leading mammography screening facilities in the United States

How to Apply
Application Process
Eligibility Requirements:
1. Active Treatment Status: Patients must be in active treatment during the application period
- Active treatment defined as: After diagnosis of breast cancer, receipt of treatment plan from doctor, and receiving IV chemotherapy, radiation, and/or completed surgical procedure to remove cancer (single or bilateral mastectomy, lumpectomy, axillary or sentinel node biopsy)
- NOT considered active treatment: Oral chemotherapy pills, immunotherapy, reconstruction, oral hormonal therapies, future scheduled surgery or treatments
Required Documentation:
All supporting documents must be scanned (NO PHOTOGRAPHS ACCEPTED):
1. Current utility bill OR mortgage statement with applicant name
2. Full copy of lease agreement
3. Copy of current treatment plan on letterhead, signed and dated, from one of the following:
- Oncologist
- Licensed Social Worker
- Nurse Navigator
- Patient Navigator
Application Submission:
1. Houston Area Applicants:
- Apply through Houston-Area BCAP Application
- Local program
2. National Applicants:
- Located outside Houston area
- Apply through National BCAP Application
- Open while funds are available
