Junior Over The Line Scholarship Fund

Geographic Scope: San Diego County, California

Background: Established in 1990 in memory of Matthew McGiveron, a World Championship Junior Over-The-Line player who died in a drowning accident. Originally funded with $1,000 from the OTL budget for two $500 scholarships yearly.

Funding Sources: Since 1991, a percentage of team fees from the World Championship Over-The-Line Tournament, private donors, South Mission Beach Pavilion, Circle of Champions, and Angels of OMBAC.

Focus Areas: Supporting deserving young athletes for post-secondary education

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be a World Championship Junior Over-The-Line player
• From San Diego County
• Pursuing post-high school education (college or training program)
• Must provide recommendation letters
• Must submit grade transcripts

Award Use: Cash awards can be used at winner's discretion if they enroll in a post-secondary college or training program
