JumpStart Books and Fees Scholarship

Funder: Bright Minds Foundation (Howard County Public Schools Education Foundation)

Purpose: Assist JumpStart dual enrollment students by covering the cost of books and course fees while taking classes at Howard Community College, enabling authentic college experience and credit-earning.

Geographic Scope: Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) JumpStart program participants; Howard Community College

Eligibility:

• Enrolled in HCPSS JumpStart Dual Enrollment Program
• Enrolled in HCPSS Free and Reduced Meals (FARMs) program
• Taking courses on Howard Community College's campus
• Must reapply each semester

Award Details:

• Amount: Varies per semester; 2020-2021 provided $22,000+ for 105 scholarships
• Use of funds: Books and course fees for HCC classes
• Application cycles: Spring and Fall
