Program Type: Senior veteran recognition and travel experience

Overview: Vital Life Foundation and Wish of a Lifetime from AARP have partnered to create Journey of Heroes—an initiative that uplifts and honors senior U.S. military veterans by offering a meaningful, community-centered experience rooted in connection, healing, and purpose.

    Program Details

  • Experience: 4-day trip to Washington, DC
  • Travel Dates (2026): April 27–30, 2026
  • Activities: Veterans, companions, volunteers, and staff participate in intentional moments of cama················, storytelling, and shared remembrance at national landmarks
  • Historical Impact: Since 2013, more than 114 veterans have participated

    Eligibility

  • U.S. military veterans ages 65 and older
  • Must be able to participate in the 4-day Washington, DC experience
