The John Sage Foundation supports projects that enhance the relationship between people and the natural environment, primarily in Maine. Since its inception in 1992, it has funded various initiatives, including land acquisition, water testing, and environmental education. Overview

JSF is a young, growing organization. In 1992, we funded two projects totaling $2000; in 1996, we funded ten projects for a total of $13,265; in 1998, we funded nine projects for a total of $18,300; and in 2000 we have funded 5 projects for a total of $24,550.  Projects have ranged from a few hundred dollars to several thousand. While we generally like to fund a variety of projects, we will consider giving the majority of our funds to a single entity in any grant cycle. It is the objective of John Sage Foundation to promote and enhance a harmonious relationship between people and the natural environment.
