Mission: Supporting fellow athletic alumni in need through financial assistance.

Background: The inaugural program under BHAAA Assist, named after Joe Sutton, who in 1974 began coaching youth sports in Beverly Hills and believed in the power of sports to shape lives. His legacy continues through this scholarship fund.

Geographic Scope

• Primary: Beverly Hills High School alumni and those involved in the athletic program
• Location: Beverly Hills, CA

Eligibility Criteria

1. Applicant must be an alumnus/alumna of Beverly Hills High School 2. Applicant must have been a participant in the High School's athletic program at any level - Eligible participants include: Former players, cheerleaders, team managers, and coaches 3. Applicant must demonstrate immediate financial need that cannot be met by applicant's available resources

Award Determination

• Priority basis: Need-based (determined at Scholarship Committee's sole discretion)
• Consideration factors: Available funding levels and demonstrated need
• Non-discriminatory: Decisions never made on grounds of age, race, or gender
• Funding source: Donations and grants

Application Review Process

• Timeline: Committee endeavors to complete review and notify applicants within 30 days
• Notifications: Applicants will be notified upon receipt; informed if application is incomplete, ineligible, or low priority
• Unsuccessful applicants: May re-apply after 30 days
• Successful applicants: May re-apply after 1 year
• Final decisions: All decisions by BHAAA Scholarship Committee are final

Important Terms & Conditions

• Fund usage: Failure to use scholarship funds for purposes described in application will result in future ineligibility for all BHAAA Assist funds and may result in BHAAA Assist seeking return of distributed funds
