Overview: A one-time scholarship aimed to empower autistic students in their pursuit of higher education or vocational training, celebrating the diverse talents and perspectives autistic students contribute to communities and academia.

Background: Named in honor of Jacob Rodriguez. Created because when Jacob and his parents were preparing for his college journey, they found there were not many college scholarships available that celebrate ASD students continuing their education through financial support.

Geographic Scope: Service area includes counties around Charlotte, Raleigh, and Asheville, North Carolina (Mecklenburg, Union, Gaston, Cabarrus, Iredell, Lincoln, Alexander, Catawba, Cleveland, Rowan, Stanley, Durham, Orange, Wake, Chatham, Franklin, Buncombe, Henderson) and South Carolina (York, Lancaster, Chester, Chesterfield).

Eligibility:

Must reside in service area

Must have an autism diagnosis

Financial aid through Autism Strong is limited to one grant per child per calendar year
