Summary

The Isaac H. Tuttle Fund Grant aims to enhance the quality of life for older individuals in Manhattan by providing financial assistance to seniors and supporting community organizations. The fund focuses on helping elderly residents maintain their independence and dignity as they age, with a collaborative approach that includes case management and social services. Grants are awarded to individuals and organizations that meet specific eligibility criteria, ensuring that resources are directed where they are most needed.

Overview

Mission The mission of the Isaac H. Tuttle Fund, as reflected in its Certificate of Incorporation of 1872, is to provide for the temporal and spiritual welfare of aged persons. We provide direct financial support to individuals and to not-for-profit community-based organizations that provide services to seniors in Manhattan, New York. Our goal is to enable older persons to continue living in their own homes so long as they are physically and mentally able to do so. Tuttle Fund grants fall into two categories: Stipendiary Program, which provides financial help to elderly persons whose assets have been eroded over time through illness, inflation, and other factors. This program is restricted to individuals who live in Manhattan and can demonstrate positive contributions to their communities during their working lives. In addition to financial assistance, this program involves collaboration with case management agencies to provide comprehensive social services to our stipendiary clients including assistance in putting into place public benefits and entitlements available to the individual. Grants to Organizations Program, which makes grants to organizations and programs that serve the elderly in Manhattan. This program works together with the Stipendiary Program to identify unmet needs. We address gaps in support services by funding programs that enable seniors to continue living at home and that help enhance their daily lives. We provide general support as well as specific program support to agencies that provide direct services to the elderly in Manhattan.
