International Peace Scholarship (IPS) Fund

Purpose: Scholarships for international women students to pursue graduate study in the U.S. or Canada.

Status: Ongoing program

Geographic Scope: For international women studying in United States and Canada

Award Details:

  • Maximum award: $12,500

  • Lesser amounts may be awarded according to individual needs

  • Based upon demonstrated need

  • Award is not intended to cover all academic or personal expenses

  • At time of application, applicant must indicate additional financial resources adequate to meet estimated expenses
  • Additional Financial Resources Examples:

  • Personal and family funds

  • Tuition waivers

  • Work/employment

  • Scholarships

  • Teaching assistantships

  • Study grants

  • Other scholarships
  • Eligibility Period: September 15 to December 15

    Eligibility Requirements:

  • Woman outside the United States and Canada

  • Seeking advanced degree from accredited college or university in U.S. or Canada

  • Will return to home country to utilize education to make positive impact and foster global peace

  • Has full year of formal coursework remaining

  • Enrolled and in residence in U.S. or Canada for entire school year

  • - OR
  • International student attending Cottey College
  • Not Eligible:

  • Doctoral students who have completed coursework and are working only on dissertations (as first-time applicants)

  • Citizens or permanent residents of the United States or Canada

  • Students with residency for tax purposes only (permitted)

  • Students pursuing scholarships for online courses, research, internships, or practical training if not combined with formal coursework
