Inland Power Excellence Award Scholarship

Program Type: Scholarship for academic excellence and community service

Background: Since 1992, Inland Power & Light has been awarding scholarships to members and their dependents who have excelled academically and in community service.

Award Details:

Number of Awards: 15 scholarships annually

Award Amount: $1,000 per scholarship

Eligible Students: Graduating high school seniors, continuing college students, and students enrolling in line school

Geographic Scope: Students attending accredited schools in any state

Eligibility:

Must be an active Inland Power member or dependent of an active member

College students must be claimed as legal dependents on parent/guardian's tax return

Relatives of selection committee members are not eligible

Scholarship recipients may reapply the following year, but at least 10 of 15 scholarships are reserved for new applicants

Selection Process:

All-volunteer committee comprised of 5-10 Inland members reviews applications

Committee serves one-year terms and administers program according to set criteria

Committee meets in February; recipients notified at beginning of March

Award Distribution:
Scholarship checks are paid directly to colleges and trade schools upon selection and official enrollment.
