Overview

Individual Scholarship Awards

Overview: $2,000 individual scholarships awarded to eligible high school seniors nominated by their mentors. Made possible by generous sponsorships by area businesses.

Award Details:

  • Multiple scholarships available annually

  • Each NH FRC team may nominate up to two seniors

  • Brief nomination write-up required from active mentor unrelated to the student

  • Considers both merit and needs-based factors
  • Eligibility:

  • Must be a high school senior

  • Must be a participant of the 2024/25 FIRST Robotics Competition season

  • Must be nominated by an active mentor on their FRC team who is unrelated to the student

  • Must be accepted by institution through regular admission process
  • Award Use:

  • For NH community college students: $2,000 towards tuition and tuition-related fees (lab fees, comprehensive fees). Does not cover housing, parking fines, late fees, or conduct fines.

  • Must be used within one year from the date of the competition

    How to Apply

    Application Process

    Required Materials:

  • Nomination form (available at: Scholarship Nomination Form)

  • Brief nomination write-up from active mentor (short paragraph or two)

  • General description of needs (if applicable)
  • Nomination Details:
    1. Active mentor on the team completes nomination form
    2. Mentor must be unrelated to the nominated student
    3. Write-up should describe why student is worthy of scholarship
    4. If needs-based, include description such as:
    - First generation college student
    - Title 1 school background/use of those services
    - Other relevant financial need information
    5. Needs-based consideration is one factor; non-needs-based students also have good chance
