Geographic Scope: San Miguel Watershed (Telluride, Norwood, Redvale, Nucla, Naturita, Paradox and all points in between), Colorado

Focus Areas: Personal enrichment for middle and high school age students

Eligibility

• Middle and high school age students
• Must reside or attend school in the San Miguel Watershed
• Seeking funding for personal enrichment

Award Details

• Maximum Award: $500 per person per year
• Awards granted annually each fall

JFK Priorities & Criteria for Funding

• Projects that provide high quality experiences for children
• Projects offering innovative solutions to existing challenges serving regional youth
• Projects with outcomes that can be measured to determine effectiveness
• Demonstration of effective collaborations
• Complete, on-time applications that comply with all requirements

Application Process

• All applicants required to attend 10-15 minute interview with JFK Board of Directors
• Representative will contact applicant to schedule interview upon receipt of application
• JFK will not award grants to projects or expenses that occurred prior to application deadline

Application Process

1. Submit 2026 Individual Grant Application during the October application period
2. Complete all required information in the application
3. Submit application by deadline (applications received after deadline will not be reviewed)
4. Attend required 10-15 minute interview with JFK Board of Directors
   • Board representative will contact applicant upon receipt of application to schedule interview
