United Way of King County's Indigenous Communities Fund honors and invests in King County's Indigenous communities through participatory grantmaking. The fund redirects philanthropic resources to Native-led organizations with minimal reporting requirements and autonomy to disperse funds where needed most.

Background: Launched in 2020 in response to the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on Indigenous communities. Despite being among communities with the greatest basic needs, only 0.23% of philanthropic funds are awarded to Native-led nonprofits.
