Overview

Indigenous Communities Fund

Overview: United Way of King County's Indigenous Communities Fund honors and invests in King County's Indigenous communities through participatory grantmaking. The fund redirects philanthropic resources to Native-led organizations with minimal reporting requirements and autonomy to disperse funds where needed most.

Core Values:

  • Redistribution of resources to Indigenous communities

  • Representation through decision-making power

  • Reparations for historical inequities

  • Round 2 ($1,000,000): Granted with no restrictions to 12-member Seattle Urban Native Nonprofits (SUNN)

  • Round 3 ($1,000,000): Granted directly to 9 SUNN member agencies and SUNN as a collective to disperse to other Native organizations and support youth, elders, LGBTQIA, and health and wellness initiatives
