Overview

Grants to charitable organizations and for capital projects benefiting Clallam County, Washington. Priority is given to organizations providing food, housing, clothing, medical care and programs that enrich the lives of the poor and needy of Clallam County; capital grants support major community improvement projects (past awards ranged roughly $10,000–$250,000). Funded through the Foundation's endowment; the board meets at least four times a year. (A separate $8,000 scholarship program for Clallam County graduating seniors is administered through school superintendents' offices.)

Charitable-organization requests are submitted through United Way of Clallam County (360-457-3011), which accepts them in the month of June; capital-project requests use the application form available from United Way. Grants are made only to qualifying charitable organizations and public entities, not to individuals.
