InCommon Collaboration Success Program (CSP)

A fee-based, cohort-driven program that supports institutions' identity and access management (IAM) goals through collaboration among participants, program alumni, seasoned community implementers, and subject matter experts.

Geographic Scope: United States research and education institutions

Focus Areas:

• Identity and Access Management (IAM) implementation
• Shibboleth, Grouper, COmanage, and midPoint software deployment
• IAM strategy alignment with business needs
• Technology assessment and planning

Program Format:

• Cohort-based: Groups of institutions participate together, typically 7-9 participants per cohort
• Duration: Multi-month engagement (approximately August to June)
• Support structure: Peer support, expert consultancy, and hands-on training

Key Features:

• Personalized assessments with suggested actions to advance IAM plans
• Eight seats in InCommon Trusted Access Platform training (Shibboleth, Grouper, COmanage, midPoint)
• Hosted workbench to model plans with containerized InCommon software suite
• Priority access to developers and community implementers
• Access to InCommon Catalysts before, during, and after the program for consultancy
• Alumni network: Ongoing peer support from previous cohort participants

• Opportunity to change course if interim solutions are needed
• Scalability assessment for proposed changes

Participation: As of June 2023, 37 institutions total have participated (9 in 2022-23 cohort + 28 previous cohorts)

Application Process

Expression of Interest:
1. Complete interest form by deadline (historically July 17 for programs beginning in August)
2. Note: Form completion is NOT a firm commitment
3. Internet2 staff follow up to discuss plans and fit for program
