Immediate Wildfire Response Grant Program - $50,000 per fire area

The Immediate Wildfire Response Grant Program, administered by the Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board, offers $50,000 per fire area to support post-fire recovery efforts in regions affected by the 2024 wildfire season. This initiative is funded by state lottery dollars and emphasizes technical assistance through activities such as resource assessments and community engagement, ensuring a collaborative approach to restoration on non-federal lands.

In October 2024, the OWEB Board approved up to $2 million in funding to support technical assistance grants in areas impacted during the 2024 wildfire season. These non-competitive grants are supported by state lottery dollars and support technical assistance and engagement activities including:

OWEB’s 2024 Immediate Wildfire Response TA Grants prioritize work on non-federal lands and include two eligible post-fire recovery technical assistance activities:

• Resource assessment and planning

eligible activities include convening local teams to a) complete post-fire impact assessments and/or cultural resource assessments and b) identify and/or plan prioritized restoration actions to address post-fire impacts.
Engagement
eligible activities include landowner outreach and partner coordination to plan for future post-fire restoration actions.
