IEF Annual Grants

Overview: The Idaho Episcopal Foundation awards grants annually to support mission and ministry of The Episcopal Church in Idaho and sponsored organizations.

Geographic Scope: Idaho only

Funding Priorities:

Projects operated by The Episcopal Church in Idaho and its congregations are given priority

Projects with ecumenical funding support are encouraged

Eligible Organizations:

Parishes, missions, and other entities of The Episcopal Church in Idaho

Non-profit agencies in Idaho with documented 501(c)(3) status sponsored by a parish of The Episcopal Church in Idaho

Eligible Ministries:

Mission outreach by parishes, The Episcopal Church in Idaho, or other agencies

Outward-focused evangelism activities by parishes

Establishment of new Diocesan congregations or renewal of existing congregations (must be recommended by Diocesan Council prior to IEF review)

Eligible Use of Funds:

Purchase of equipment or other one-time capital expenditures needed to support the ministry

Start-up funds for new ministries

What They Don't Fund:

Ongoing operating expenses

Repairs to church property

Ministries outside of Idaho

Award Size: Dollar amounts vary by organization and project need. Past awards have ranged from $300 to $12,000. In 2026, 10 grants totaling $31,995 were awarded.

Grant Cycle:

September 1: Grant applications due

Early October: Applications reviewed by IEF Grants Committee

Mid-October: IEF Board of Directors makes final funding decisions

November: Grants announced at Diocesan Convention; applicants notified

January: Funding available

History: The Idaho Episcopal Foundation has awarded approximately $1.3 million to many invaluable ministries since its founding in 1984. In 2025, approximately $45,068 was awarded to ten congregations and community organizations.
