Overview

HSSD CARE Awards

Overview: An annual recognition and award program honoring Howard-Suamico School District (HSSD) staff members who demonstrate exceptional dedication and positive contributions to school culture.

CARE Stands For: Congratulate, Appreciate, Recognize, Esteem

Purpose: Recognize each person serving at HSSD—from classrooms to lunch rooms, front offices, gymnasiums and beyond—whose work makes a direct impact on students and the future of communities.

Recognition Criteria: Award winners are selected through anonymous peer-voting at each HSSD building based on employees who:

  • Exhibit joy in their roles and love for public education

  • Foster healthy relationships with others

  • Contribute to a positive school climate

  • Value every contribution with respect and honor
  • Award Components: Each winner receives:

  • $1,250 stipend for the CARE Award winner

  • $750 grant for the award winner's school

  • $500 contribution to the HSEF Endowment Fund
  • Eligibility: One employee per HSSD building (9 schools)

    Geographic Scope: Howard-Suamico School District, Wisconsin

    Status: 4th annual awards announced in 2025 (winners recognized May 9, 2025)
