The Hovore-Horn Entomological Fellowship, established in 2005 by Frank T. Hovore, supports Latin American students in entomology research throughout Latin America. This fellowship honors Hovore's legacy, who passed away in 2006 while collecting beetles in Ecuador. Applications are accepted year-round, but must be submitted at least two months before the project's start date. Eligible candidates include graduate students from OTS member institutions and OTS alumni.

NOTE: Fellowship applications are always open. We asked your proposal to be submitted at least 3-4 months before your visit, this way we can review it, give feedback and also communicate our decision. Hovore-Horn Fellowship Funded through an endowment established in 2005 by biologist Frank T. Hovore in honor of his parents, Alice and Andre Horn, this fellowship also honors Frank himself, who succumbed to a heart attack in September 2006 while doing what he loved, collecting beetles in Ecuador.

Eligibility

The Hovore-Horn research fellowships in entomology are available exclusively to Latin American students for work in any Latin American country. OTS fellowships are open to graduate students enrolled in degree programs at OTS member institutions and to OTS graduate course alumni.Only one research award may be held at a time.
